Hello, my name is Tami, I am the owner/sewist of Costumes In Motion. I am in my mid 50’s and live in Nebraska.
I started sewing when I was 10 and was involved with 4-H. I also created a garment and cape for Make It With Wool competition.
After graduating high school, sewing was the last thing on my mind. A couple of years passed and I was asked to sing at a friend’s wedding. Being newly married and having nothing to wear, I grabbed my Elna sewing machine and made a dress.
I started making garments for me and my husband. I then ventured into the world of alterations. Before long, I was making boy shorts and leotards for a local dance company.
I am currently sewing dance and ice skating costumes. I continue to do alterations for brides and their parties. I also volunteer my sewing for the local high school One-Act.
I am also a member of Sew Like a Pro and have completed the Dressmakers Business course.
When not sewing, I train to run half marathons, climb mountains and do some gardening.
