Let Me Fit Your Dreams

Ice Skating Dresses

I love creating ice skating dresses!
I start with a sketch based on your ideas. From a testing dress to a theatrical costume, let me make your dreams come true!

Dance Dresses

I am always proud when I see a dancer perform in a dress I made! Starting with pictures and fabric, we will go from sketch to stage.
Let me create the dress of your dreams!

Testimonials

Meet Delaney

All dresses have a piece that I like the best, the maroon one with the open sides, the purple dress with the curtain skirt, the fringe on my new scarlet red dress, I just like the teal dress. She also made me an Oompa Loompa outfit.

I have always enjoyed working with Tami because she takes my ideas and develops the dress for me. I couldn’t choose a favorite dress.

I have grown up and my tastes have changed. I have a strong opinion and Tami works with me. Whatever I need/want she figures it out. She always comes prepared to listen.

Meet Courtney

I have been lucky to have Tami design 3 fabulous costumes for my dance solo for the Miss Nebraska State Competition.
Tami truly knows how to make sure an outfit will fit my body as well as what will flatter me. She takes my ideas into consideration and will help answer any questions I have.

Each of my costumes has helped me to feel amazing on stage as well boost my confidence!

She is amazing and l love working with her. I know if I need a dress or other article of clothing I could rely on her to successfully accomplish it.

About Me

Hello, my name is Tami, I am the owner/sewist of Costumes In Motion.
I am in my mid 50’s and live in Nebraska.

I started sewing when I was 10 and was involved with 4-H. I also created a garment and cape for Make It With Wool competition.

After graduating high school, sewing was the last thing on my mind. A couple of years passed and I was asked to sing at a friend’s wedding. Being newly married and having nothing to wear, I grabbed my Elna sewing machine and made a dress.

I started making garments for me and my husband. I then ventured into the world of alterations. Before long, I was making boy shorts and leotards for a local dance company.

I am currently sewing dance and ice skating costumes. I continue to do alterations for brides and their parties.

I also volunteer my sewing for the local high school One-Act.

I am also a member of Sew Like a Pro and have completed the Dressmakers Business course.

When not sewing, I train to run half marathons, climb mountains and do some gardening.
